Bitumen is a dark, highly viscous petroleum product obtained during the refining of crude oil. Depending on temperature, it may appear in semi-solid or liquid form. Its primary application is in road infrastructure, where it is used as a binding material for asphalt. Bitumen is also widely utilized in the construction sector for roofing systems, waterproofing solutions, and protective coatings due to its durability and resistance to water penetration.
Vacuum Gas Oil (VGO) is a critical intermediate product generated during vacuum distillation of crude oil. It serves as a major feedstock for fluid catalytic cracking and hydroprocessing units, where it is converted into high-value transportation fuels such as diesel and gasoline. Through advanced refining technologies, VGO can be efficiently upgraded to optimize fuel yields while meeting strict quality and regulatory requirements.
Fuel oil refers to a range of heavy petroleum products primarily used in marine transportation and power generation. Grades such as Very Low Sulphur Fuel Oil (VLSFO) and Low Sulphur Fuel Oil (LSFO) are formulated to comply with IMO 2020 sulphur regulations. Heavier fuel oils, including HFO, remain widely used in marine engines designed for heavy fuels, as well as in certain industrial facilities and power plants where high-energy output is required.
